REFUND & CANCELLATION POLICY

WORKSHOPS & OTHER EVENTS

If there are other refund & cancellation policies stated on the event page individually, we will follow that one.

Otherwise, the following conditions are valid.

50% refund if cancelled up to 1 week before the event

25% refund if cancelled up to 48 hrs before the event

No Refund if cancelled less than 48 hrs before the event

DAILY CLASSES

No-Shows: As a small Yoga Studio business that tries to offer as many classes to the community as possible in Canterbury, unfortunately, we can’t afford to offer refunds (or transfers) for missed classes.

However, we understand there might be very rare situations that need to be evaluated individually, in this case, please contact us.

The cancellation window for daily classes is 6 hours before the start time. If you cancel a class less than 6 hrs you lose the credit you used for that booking.

OTHER TERMS AND CONDITIONS

BOOKING & PRIVACY

1) Booking is essential.

2) Our booking provider is MomoYoga. When you book a class through our website, you will be redirected to the MomoYoga website to complete your payment and booking.

You can also manage your bookings easily on the go by downloading the MomoYoga app through this link.

3) If you can no longer attend a class, please cancel your booking. This allows your spot to be offered to someone else and helps teachers plan accordingly.

4) ASHTANGA YOGA MYSORE SESSIONS: We currently offer 1 hr 45 min or 2 hr sessions, divided into slots to make booking clearer and easier. If your practice is longer, you are welcome to book the earliest slot and continue into the next one, as long as you finish by the end of the final slot.

5) The booking window closes between 30 and 75 minutes before class, depending on the teacher. If you need urgent assistance, you may email us at info@yogashalacanterbury.com. We can’t promise an immediate reply, but we’ll do our best to help.

5) We respect your privacy. We do not share or sell your email address with third parties. We use it only to update you about classes, workshops, and events, and occasionally to share inspirational blog posts.

ENTRY

1) The main building door may be closed outside office hours. If so, please use the intercom to ring the studio (room 207), and your teacher will let you in.

2) Please arrive 5–10 minutes before the session starts (except for Mysore classes), but not earlier than 15 minutes.

3) Once the session has begun, teachers cannot respond to the intercom except for the Mysore classes. It is your responsibility to arrive on time, and we cannot offer refunds for missed classes due to late arrival.

4) We are located on the 2nd floor. For detailed directions, click the “FIND US” tab at the top of the website.

SHARED FACILITIES

1) We share the floor with other businesses, so please be mindful and keep noise to a minimum in the corridors.

2) The toilets on our floor are shared with other businesses. Please help keep them clean and tidy.

3) If you need to use the kitchen, your teacher will be happy to assist you.

IN THE SHALA

To help everything run smoothly, we kindly ask for your cooperation. Thank you for your understanding and support.

1) Please help keep the shala clean.

2) Place your shoes in the shoe cabinet. You’re welcome to sit on the grey blanket chest when taking shoes on and off.

3) Avoid food and drinks during class (water is fine in a closed bottle).

4) After the session, return all props to their place and use the mat cleaners provided.

5) Use the hangers for bags and coats. Please don’t keep bags near your mat during practice.

6) If you have a folding bike, you may leave it in the corridor across from the studio, near the chairs, as long as it doesn’t block the walkway.

HEALTH DECLARATION

Our teachers are dedicated, highly qualified, and here to support your practice. But no one knows your body better than you do. If you feel you need to adjust your practice, don’t hesitate to ask your teacher for guidance.

Some teachers may offer gentle hands-on assists to help with alignment or deepen your practice. You will always be asked for permission first, and you can choose to decline at any time, even if you agreed before.

Health & Wellbeing

1) If you are recovering from an injury or surgery, you must obtain your doctor’s approval before participating in physical exercise or yoga

2) We kindly ask that you keep your teachers informed about any health conditions or changes that could affect your practice, including:

  • Injuries

  • Surgeries

  • Pregnancy

3) If you prefer not to share your health information, please email us to confirm this when booking your first session. Otherwise, we will assume there are no relevant health conditions.

4) By joining a class at Yoga Shala Canterbury, you acknowledge and agree to the above.

Thank you for being thoughtful and responsible with your practice. If you have any questions or concerns, we’re always happy to help, please email us at info@yogashalacanterbury.com.

We appreciate your support in making the Shala a mindful, respectful, and enjoyable place for all.
